Ornament Exchange Friday, Dec. 17
• 2021, Christmas, December, Events
Our annual ornament exchange was held on Friday, December 17th at 6:30pm. Every year you can join us for a fun-filled family event done in the style of “white elephant” gifting. This is probably the only time you’re going to get away with “stealing” in church!
Bring a wrapped ornament for each person participating ($5 limit, please) and place it under the Christmas tree. Then, wait your turn and choose to open a new surprise, or steal an ornament from someone else! Nobody leaves empty-handed; there will be enough ornaments for everyone. What you take home might not be what you expect!
Refreshments will be served in the lobby. A contribution to the snacks or beverages is not necessary, but always appreciated.
The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering®
• 2021, December, Donations, Events, Fundraiser, Missions
The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® supports Southern Baptist missionaries serving abroad internationally. SBC missionaries are unique in that they do not need to raise money for their mission trips; the needs of the missionaries are supplied through the IMB. The IMB is able to continue to provide for these missionaries and their families through donations made in churches just like ours.
The offering was officially named in 1918 by Woman’s Missionary Union in honor of the missionary to China who urged churches to start it and give sacrificially. 100% of the funds donated to The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® go directly to missionaries working in the field. Here is how your generosity supports missions:
- $10 - Provides 1 month of missionary language training
- $100 - Provides 1 week of supplies for a missionary to serve in a refugee camp
- $300 - Provides a 1 year license renewal for a missionary doctor
- $2,500 - Provides 1 year of homeschooling curriculum for the children of missionaries
